Paleo Wine Store

I’m really into creating a nice narrative for my store, but I do understand someone who just wants to drink a glass of wine without overthinking. 10.000 bottles of wine are stored here at the moment. I placed the bottles on the shelves to cover the cement walls, and each one of them has its own story. When I entered the space for the first time, it reminded me of a catholic church.

His main focus is wines from Italy, Spain, France and Greece which can be paired with a short but tasty list of dishes. Located in the historic centre of Thisio, it is the perfect place to stop off after a day's sightseeing or a stroll to enjoy some of the more than 150 wines in its cellar, paired with well-crafted dishes. Elegant, modern and cosy, as its name suggests (caravan + vin), »Caravin« is a journey to destinations where the bottle of wine becomes the reason to discover them.

Specializing in all things bubbly, you can sip on delightful Greek bubbles alongside prosecco, champagne, and cava from Spain, available by the bottle or glass. By the moment it opened, Warehouse became a buzzing hive of wine aficionados, who swarm day and night to enjoy Greek and non-Greek wines from a carefully-vetted wine list. Vintage Wine bar & Bistro in Athens offers a sophisticated blend of wine and Mediterranean cuisine in the heart of the city’s historic district. In 2019, they expanded with a neighboring space dedicated to natural wines, featuring 150 labels primarily from Mediterranean vineyards. With several locations across the city, including Psyrri, Makrygianni and Monastiraki, Cinque offers an exceptional experience for wine lovers, featuring curated tastings of indigenous Greek grape varieties.

Wine team

Sommelier Yannis Kaymenakis' devotion to wine is housed in a former Piraeus tobacco warehouse in Retsina, a neighbourhood in the Piraeus district. Co-owner and talented sommelier Aris Sklavenitis, along with an experienced team, will guide you on your wine journey, as well as recommending fine food and wine pairings. If you could only drink one wine for the rest of your life, what would it be? I might randomly drink a syrah from the Rhone, or maybe a pinot noir from Burgundy. I don’t drink Greek merlot or cabernet sauvignon.

Mystique…absolutely theatrical…excellent wines…real food! Converted high ceiling factory, with excellent selection of wine. Very distinct place, super location, serious selection of wines and really good staff. Το κότσι είναι απίστευτο. Beatiful industrial but still warm space with flavors from around Greece and endless wine choices.

The technical storage or access that is used exclusively for statistical purposes. There was a stock of wine bottles, so my thought was to find a warehouse and store them. Yiannis, the owner, is always there to help you choose the right bottle your money can afford. We tried a red wine from Greece, all dishes we tried were very tasty and friendly prices. However, the food menu could benefit from additional options beyond Italian cuisine to enhance its appeal. aperitivo menu The staff is exceptionally courteous, and the extensive wine list offers a wide range of choices.

In terms of wine, the space’s compass shows a direction toward metropolitan France, Spain, Italy, a little bit of Portugal, and Greece. Nestled in one of the oldest warehouses of Peiraus, Paléo is a wine bar-resto designed in a vintage industrial aura. Far from the main squares, in non-central locations without gastronomic status, a new caste of restaurants is giving the green light to cuisines that love good ingredients. Created by Frenchmen Rafael Wallon-Brownstone and Thomas Brengou in collaboration with Greek chef Stavros Chrysafidis, Wine is Fine is a caves à manger-style place where you can enjoy fine wines, mainly Greek and French. More than 800 labels in the cellar, an intriguing list, selected wines by the glass and a menu of tasty, saisonal delicacies and rare cheeses. The sophisticated wine bar is ideal for quiet evenings of wine enjoyment. As for the wine, their basement cellar is packed with more than 500 wines to purchase to take home, offering more than 140 selections by the glass and almost 300 by the bottle from Greek and international vineyards.

Swing by Warehouse Edge for a delightful coffee and wine experience on a sunny day after checking out the impressive Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center! In lively Exarcheia area, “Τannin my love” offers more than 100 Greek wine varietals in a glass. Heteroclito also offers Mediterranean-inspired small plates, reinforcing its connection to the region’s culinary heritage. It is the meeting point for a diverse crowd, -as its name suggests-, from casual drinkers to wine connoisseurs, which makes it a great place to sit down and people-watch.
